The Silent NorthCom Takeover

Yesterday, the World Health Organization raised its pandemic alert for swine flu to the second highest level, meaning that it believes a global outbreak of the disease is imminent. Matthew Rothschild at The Progressive asks the question, “Will NorthCom take over in Swine Flu Outbreak?”
It was also reported yesterday that the Massachusetts Senate rammed through a martial law bill in response to the hysteria. Obviously, the swine flu outbreak raises a lot of fears, but is the direction we want our nation to go?
Very few people know that over 30 states already have the power to declare martial law in response to this recent flu outbreak under the Model State Emergency Health Powers Act (MSEHPA). When the WHO raised the pandemic threat to Level 5 it gave these governors absolute power under MSEHPA. Technically, the states that have adobted this “model” are currently in a state of adminstrative martial law right now–even if it isn’t being reported.
The next shoe to fall will be when the Pentagon reveals to the public that civil society is under the authority of NorthCom. Testifying in March, General Victor Renuart, head of NorthCom, said it would provide “assistance in support of civil authorities” during an epidemic.
General Renuar added NorthCom has prepared for a flu outbreak from Mexico. He explained that is “because Mexico is our neighbor and disasters do not respect national boundaries, we are focused on developing and improving procedures to respond to potentially catastrophic events such as pandemic influenza outbreak,” he testified.
Certainly, they will claim Martial Law is needed as a response to this Swine Flu but it begs the larger question: was this crisis (and perhaps the flu strain itself) manufactured for the purpose of staging a military take over of the United States?
Back in 2002, President Bush created NorthCom, the Pentagon’s Northern Command, which has jurisdiction over the United States. And NorthCom has been running preparedness drills in the event of a flu pandemic for at least the past three years.
Making things more alarming, NorthCom got assigned its own fighting unit six months ago—the Army’s 3rd Infantry Division’s 1st Brigade Combat Team, which had spent much of the last five years battling things out in Iraq.
The assignment of that fighting unit alarmed the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). “This is a radical departure from separation of civilian law enforcement and military authority and could, quite possibly, represent a violation of law,” said Mike German, ACLU national security policy counsel.
NorthCom also has a “private sector cell,” Renuart said in a talk to the Heritage Foundation on August 20, 2008. “We have great participation from industry and from other organizations around the country.”
One private sector group that has worked with the FBI and Homeland Security on pandemics is InfraGard. This is group of more than 30,000 businesspeople who have special access to confidential FBI information and may be assigned special—and lethal—duties in times of an emergency (See “The FBI Deputizes Business”).
An InfraGard chapter held a meeting at NYU Medical Center on February 21, 2007 on “Pandemic Preparedness Planning: the Case for Public-Private Collaboration”.
InfraGard also participated in a conference entitled “Surviving the Pandemic,” held in Madison, Wisconsin, October 12, 2006. Clearly, InfraGard wants to be a player in pandemic response. “Utilization of their expertise will help local communities prepare for a possible pandemic event to ensure minimal disruption and quick recovery,” one InfraGard press release stated.
Whether and how InfraGard and NorthCom might be working together in this swine flu outbreak is unclear. Similarly, it is unclear what actions NorthCom might take if an all-out pandemic ensues.
George W. Bush bestowed upon the Presidency enormous powers, essentially to be in charge of every branch of government, as well as state and local and tribal governments and the private sector, in the event of a “catastrophic emergency.” (See National Security Presidential Directive 51)
We’re in a public health emergency now. It’s not “catastrophic” yet. But it appears to be up to the President—and the President only—to make that determination, according to Directive 51.
During the Reagan era Col. Oliver North help develop the Rex 84 plan which proposed rounding up 400,000 refugees, under FEMA, in the event of “uncontrolled population movements” over the Mexican border into the United States. Furthermore, In 2002, FEMA sought bids from major real estate and engineering firms to construct giant internment facilities in the case of a chemical, biological or nuclear attack or a natural disaster.
One of the last acts of Congress in 2006 was to send President Bush a bill that establishes a $38 million program of National Park Service grants to preserve Japanese POW internment camps in Hawaii, California, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Wyoming, Utah and Idaho. Is this really in the name of historical interest or does it dovetail with programs on the books to intern hundreds of thousands of dissidents in a time of crisis?
What could the government be contemplating that leads it to make contingency plans to detain without recourse millions of its own citizens? asked former Congressman Dan Hamburg of the watchdog group Voice of the Environment, Inc. in a article carried by the San Francisco Chronicle last year.
“Since 9/11, and seemingly without the notice of most Americans, the federal government has assumed the authority to institute martial law, arrest a wide swath of dissidents (citizen and noncitizen alike), and detain people without legal or constitutional recourse in the event of an emergency influx of immigrants in the U.S., or to support the rapid development of new programs.” Hamburg co-wrote with Lewis Seiler.
The article continued:
Beginning in 1999, the government has entered into a series of single-bid contracts with Halliburton subsidiary Kellogg, Brown and Root (KBR) to build detention camps at undisclosed locations within the United States. The government has also contracted with several companies to build thousands of railcars, some reportedly equipped with shackles, ostensibly to transport detainees.
According to diplomat and author Peter Dale Scott, the KBR contract is part of a Homeland Security plan titled ENDGAME, which sets as its goal the removal of “all removable aliens” and “potential terrorists.”
Over the past decade we have witnessed an extreme acceleration of the physical implementation of a framework and infrastructure ready to receive those who will not go along with a coordinated destruction of traditional American values and freedom.
The only question that remains is this: are we seeing a beta test or will this event unleash the NorthCom martial law monster? We may have our answer very soon.

Again, with more flu preparedness.... there are now three confirmed cases in Maine. Two in Kennebec County and one in York County. Expect more. If you are sick for Gods sake STAY HOME!!!!! If you are not sick you want to do everything you can to stay that way. While there is only one confirmed death in the US (as of this morning) there is no use taking chances when you dont have to. AND WASH YOUR HANDS!!!!! this cant be repeated enough. Stick a bandaid on the end of a finger on each hand as a reminder to NOT touch your face.
In that vein I did a quick google search on natural anti virals. Olive leaf extract was what popped up first. I had been taking this as a supplement but stopped about three months ago. I am getting some TODAY.

CDC Confirms it was Mixing Viruses in Pandemic Study

Fellow blogger and good friend Bullseye posted the Russia Today video that was asking the question was the new Swine Flu virus man made? It is a very good question and the answer surprisingly comes from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) itself.
Is it possible for the new strain of Swine Flu to occur naturally? Well yea in a perfect scenario. The "Swine Flu" as the media has dubbed it is a mixture of Human influenza, Bird Flu from North America, Swine flu from Europe, and Swine flu from Asia. Here is a fictitious scenario written by Mike Adams from NaturalNews.com that shows how unlikely it would be for this to occur naturally.
This is rather astonishing to realize, because for this to have been a natural combination of viral fragments, it means an infected bird from North America would have had to infect pigs in Europe, then be re-infected by those some pigs with an unlikely cross-species mutation that allowed the bird to carry it again, then that bird would have had to fly to Asia and infected pigs there, and those Asian pigs then mutated the virus once again (while preserving the European swine and bird flu elements) to become human transmittable, and then a human would have had to catch that virus from the Asian pigs -- in Mexico! -- and spread it to others.
As crazy as this sounds, that's what the media is telling us. A more likely scenario is that because of the CDC's documented experimentation with influenza viruses, this has been leaked out, our deliberately released. The Center for Infectious Disease Research & Policy (CIDRAP) at the University of Minnesota conducted studies in 2004 where they mixed H5N1 virus with human flu viruses. They go on to say that, "Now, rather than waiting to see if nature spawns such a hybrid, US scientists are planning to try to breed one themselves—in the name of preparedness."

"The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will soon launch experiments designed to combine the H5N1 virus and human flu viruses and then see how the resulting hybrids affect animals. The goal is to assess the chances that such a "reassortant" virus will emerge and how dangerous it might be. CDC officials confirmed the plans for the research as described recently in media reports, particularly in a Canadian Press (CP) story."

The researchers, from the influenza branch of the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta, will mate H5N1 and human flu viruses in a process known as reassortment. Viable offspring will be tested in animals thought to be good surrogates for humans, to see if the viruses can infect, can be transmitted easily from infected animals to healthy ones and to note the severity of disease each provokes. In other words, the CDC researchers will be deliberately engineering viruses of pandemic potential. It's high-risk but crucial work, the influenza community insists. "It's a dangerous experiment,'' admits Dr. Robert Webster, a world-renowned expert on influenza based at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. "This is the worst virus I've ever met in my long career.''The World Health Organization has been pleading for months for qualified research facilities -- of which there are few -- to undertake this work.
The government is already talking about mass vaccinations for the American people, and this could be eventually lead to a forced inoculation campaign. The government will use whatever excuse there is to grant themselves more power. Most of the time the vaccinations that the government scrambles to force on the American people are a lot worse than the virus itself. Here's a quote from the Reuters article,
In 1976 a new strain of swine flu started infecting people and worried U.S. health officials started widespread vaccination. More than 40 million people were vaccinated. But several cases of Guillain-Barre syndrome, a severe and sometime fatal condition that can be linked to some vaccines, caused the U.S. government to stop the program. This virus is also being used as a cover for radical legislation to be passed under our noses. AP reports yesterday that a Massachusetts law has cleared the Senate and is up for vote in the house. It would allow "the public health commissioner — in a public health emergency — to close or evacuate buildings, enter private property for investigations, and quarantine individuals. The measure also requires a registry for volunteers that would be activated in an emergency and establishes fines of up to $1,000 for not complying with local public health orders." This would allow them to call for martial law in the state if the virus got bad enough, and allow them to fine individuals who refused to be vaccinated.

Now, Pentagon has confirmed a marine has Swine Flu.

They have our GPS already and they also already know that hubster does live here - so get the heck off of it already before I bring Bertha out - they are so totally pissing me off in their obviousness. I want to makes a few things crystal clear to everyone out there. I am not that concerned about getting the Swine Flu although I am a smoker and I do have Chronic Lyme Disease (a special thanks to Plum Island for that one). but I am not stupid enough not to have some natural antivirals on hand as well as masks and so forth. WHAT I am concerned about, in fact down right pissed off about, is the hyping of this thing and the very fact that they have released this as their cover-up of what is really going and what is about to happen. This is a man-made virus and did not and cannot occur naturally. This is their way to hide the truth that the economy is now off of life support with the GDP down and China dumping dollars right and left. Then take into account that much of Europe is banning imports from the U.S. and Mexico - they are starting to kill off pigs around the world - link to article - so now we will soon have a shortage of food - oh boy. Oh, wait, we can eat their GMO crops - yeah that will save us. They are making us the pariah of the world (check out Revelations for this one). Then they are going to pass the treaty with Mexico in which Obama told Calderon a couple weeks ago that we will abide by this - that will BAN ALL OF YOUR GUNS. This is up for vote NOW. Also, they are working on passing the whole carbon, go- green bull shit to tax the hell out of us and make us all pay them for the privilege of being alive. Then, not done yet, follow the money - who stands to gain from this dam virus? Who will be making the vaccine? Who owns lots of stock in Tamiflu? This is nothing other than their way of bringing in full Martial Law people to strip more of our rights, cause riots, hunger, death - trashing this country. They will push us toward mandatory vaccines - to spread death even further. They are taking us down the road to chaos and it is happening NOW. They will make money on the deaths of millions around the world. Texas is declaring a state of health emergency today - this is bringing in Martial Law and this is only the start. The WHO is close to raising the pandemic level up to 5 and this is miltary rule and forced quaratines and forced vaccines. The White House is not in control at this point in time, that is why Obama does not say much about it - we are under the control of the United Nations under the SPP - the Security and Prosperity Partnership. If you think the UN is good, you better freaking think again and google their biodiversity studies say which call for depopulation of the world. MSEHPA gives governors absolute power

The Model State Emergency Health Powers Act (MSEHPA), recently enacted in certain states, will allow quarantines and forced vaccination, penalties for health care workers who don’t show up in a pandemic and strangely, this act also allows for the commandeering of drugs and firearms. Why would a gun-grabbing law be placed in a bill about vaccinations and medication confiscation?
Could state governors order the collection of all data and records on citizens, ban firearms, take control of private property and quarantine entire cities? The answer is yes. [1]
States that follow this “Model” will literally give their governors the kind of absolute power during a health emergency once reserved only for kings, queens and dictators.
The Model State Emergency Health Powers Act:
In response to the tragedy of September 11, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced its support for this legislation. The goal was to provide federal funds to states to encourage the enactment of legislation to prevent and detect bioterrorist attacks. Drafted for the Centers for Disease Control by academicians from the Center for Law and the Public’s Health at Georgetown and Johns Hopkins Universities, the so-called Model State Emergency Health Powers Act was released on October 23, 2001.
A THREAT TO FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS
Under this legislative proposal, once a public health emergency is declared, governors and state public health authorities would be granted greatly expanded police powers. While a few other actions are enumerated, I want to bring to your attention 10 main powers conveyed into the hands of only a very few individuals by this model plan.
Under the Model State Emergency Health Powers Act, upon the declaration of a “public health emergency,” governors and public health officials would be empowered to:
- Force individuals suspected of harboring an “infectious disease” to undergo medical examinations.
- Track and share an individual’s personal health information, including genetic information.
- Force persons to be vaccinated, treated, or quarantined for infectious diseases.
- Mandate that all health care providers report all cases of persons who harbor any illness or health condition that may be caused by an epidemic or an infectious agent and might pose a “substantial risk” to a “significant number of people or cause a long-term disability.” (Note: Neither “substantial risk” nor “significant number” are defined in the draft.)
- Force pharmacists to report any unusual or any increased prescription rates that may be caused by epidemic diseases.
- Preempt existing state laws, rules and regulations, including those relating to privacy, medical licensure, and–this is key–property rights.
- Control public and private property during a public health emergency, including pharmaceutical manufacturing plants, nursing homes, other health care facilities, and communications devices.
- Mobilize all or any part of the “organized militia into service to the state to help enforce the state’s orders.”
- Ration firearms, explosives, food, fuel and alcoholic beverages, among other commodities.
- Impose fines and penalties to enforce their orders.
As you can imagine, citizens across the country–at least the ones who were informed about it–were quite concerned about this model legislation. The American Legislative Exchange Council and other groups immediately began tracking the issue and reporting on how such legislation could affect citizens’ individual freedoms and property rights. As Time magazine recently reported, gun activists were some of the strongest and most influential opponents.[2]
As of April 15, 2006, 32 states have introduced 92 legislative bills or resolutions that are based upon or feature provisions related to the articles or sections of the act. Of these bills, 37 had passed. [3]
The only remaining question for American people is whether Executive Orders, and acts such as the Model State Emergency Health Powers Act and the Patriot Act II are imposed “in case of crisis,” or whether they are created as part of a pre-determined decision to dismantle Constitutional America. And either way, is this how we want to live? Is this what you call freedom?

How To Survive a Flu Outbreak

1. Stay informed
In addition to taking the precautions below, staying informed as the spread of the outbreak is vital to the danger level at this moment in time. Unlike during the Spanish flu outbreak in 1918, we have access to information as it happens. Check the Google Map below to see where Swine flu has occurred and if it is close to you.

2. AVOID GETTING SICK!
Don’t expect that there will be a vaccine for everyone, there is a limited supply
3. Prepare for Quarantine
In a severe crisis, travel restrictions, curfews and perhaps quarantines may be implemented. To be prepared for a situation like this:
- Have 2-3 weeks of clean drinkable water on hand
- Have 2-3 weeks of food (try to get vitamin rich foods, smoothie drinks, fruits etc.)
- Make sure you have proper medication and hygiene supplies at home
- Have at least $100 of cash
- In case of power outages or disruption of services like gas, have your own lanterns and propane stoves for cooking and light at nighttime
4. Isolate yourself
Even if you are a healthy individual, avoiding people and public places as much as possible can prevent or reduce the chance of catching the flu. Since many viruses can be passed several days before symptoms occur, you could be sick before you even know it.
- Keep a distance of 3-6ft from others at all times
- Avoid going to public events, avoid large crowds (sporting events, theaters etc.)
- Avoid going out, unless necessary. When you do keep it to a minimum
- DON’T leave your local area!! (Most people who have gotten swine flu were visiting Mexico)
- Avoid eating out; the crowds and the sanitization of utensils could cause infection
- Keep kids home from school, if possible
- Work from home, if possible
- If you have food and water storage, this is the time to use it (some of it), this will reduce your contact with others by avoiding grocery stores
- If you don’t have food and water stored, go buy some.
5. Hygiene
- Wash Your Hands frequently, especially after touching public doorknobs, pens or shopping carts
- Carry Hand Sanitizer, Use frequently
- Sanitize your car, work station and home with bleach or alcohol based cleaners
- Avoid touching common germ sources
- Wear latex gloves when out in public
- DON’T share drinks or utensils
- Wear face masks when out in public; use a mask with an N95 rating or higher
- Wear glasses or goggles (airborne pathogens can get into your eyes)
6. Health
- Get a good night’s sleep, every night
- Buy food from local sources, clean or cook vigorously
- Avoid smoking, drinking, and drugs (they reduce your immune function)
- Start taking Vitamin C, D, Garlic, Elderberry, Oil of Oregano and Echinacea
- Avoid salty foods and junk foods
- Buy and take Colloidal Silver
- Exercise regularly
- Upon signs of infection, avoid others, cough into your arm or a handkerchief and see a doctor immediately (common flu vaccines can have severe side effects, avoid getting sick so you will not have to take these
If you do get infected consider setting up a Quarantine room. This is no substitute for professional medical care but it could be good during disruption of services.

Many of you out there are confused on what you need, now I certainly do not know everything and I am neither a doctor nor an herbalist, but here goes it anyhoo...

You must carry hand sanitizer with you at all times and use it often!
We also have Air Aid Emergency Masks - these are similar to N95 masks, but I thought they were much better due to the fact that they have carbon in them. We ordered ours from stevequayle.com. They were $4.95 each and we ordered ours about 2 months ago when Baxter "accidentally" sent out live virus to be mixed in with flu vaccines - uh huh - I knew right then they were planning this!
You must have a minimum of 3 months worth of storable food - does not require refrigeration - on hand. You will need to have water stored for drinking, cooking and bathing etc - check out the other blogs for information on ways to store water. Will need other supplies too such as hygiene products and toilet paper etc. What you need to understand is that the orders are now in place to declare Martial Law and when this happens, all transit will cease - this means no stores will be stocked - EMPTY SHELVES! With this set of circumstances and Martial Law imminent, they may announce a miraculous vaccine soon and then you will be forced to take it - it will be a felony if you refuse. This virus is out in the populace now and may be going through some changes at the DNA level making either fizzle out and go away or making it much more virulent and easily spread - time will tell. Chest Cupping to help treat Flu

In line with today's headlines of more and more cases of Swine Flu popping up across the country I want to share a technique that could save the life of someone you love if this flu turns into a pandemic and health services are hard to access. Or in the event of an EOTWAWKI scenario and health services have been totally interrupted.
Its called chest cupping. I learned this technique years ago when I did a practicum as a CNA and was fortunate enough to do rounds with a respiratory therapist. This technique is not hard and if done correctly with cupped hands should not result in injury. However, as a disclaimer, use at your own discretion and caution. I will add a link at the end that will describe this and other methods that can be used to assist a patient breathe easier and help clear mucus secretions....but pay specific attention to the warnings.
The basic concept of chest cupping is that the percussion of your cupped hands in a rhythmic motion on the sides along the rib cage and across the back in the lung lobe region will result in the loosening of thick mucus that accompanies the flu and often results in the flu turning into pneumonia. It makes phlegm easier to cough up and improves oxygen intake. The patient will have immediate relief and be able to breathe much easier and deeper.
This is not a flat of hand slapping motion but rather a cupped hand (picture using your hand to get a drink of water) motion.

On Alex Jones at Infowars today, Steve Quayle and Dr. Bill Deagle both stated that this is "The Big One." This is the precursor to a very great pandemic that will dwarf the Spanish Flu of 1918. This next wave could be days, weeks or months before it starts - who knows. I also want to point out that the large pharmaceutical company that sent live bird virus to be mixed in the annual flu vaccines around the world "by accident" is now the company that is entrusted to formulate a vaccine for this latest flu - BAXTER. Do you trust them for anything? I think not. Many emergency powers have now been set in motion such as Bioshield and now the "machinery" is the works for martial law to be declared. If this goes to a full pandemic and martial law is declared, they will force everyone to take vaccines - it will be a felony if you do not. They can use the already existing camps as quarantine centers and also will be able to take you there for vaccines. You may be declared an enemy combatant if you do not comply with vaccination protocols. Heads up folks - it begins. Steve Quayle stated that it may begin to be very "nasty" by as early as Thursday of this week and with the media fear-mongering and propaganda I tend to agree that this is progressing rapidly. Why would the WHO and the CDC be acting so aggressively for a virus that has not killed as many as a normal flu virus does as it runs its course if they did not know something else? If this is so bad, then why are the borders not sealed? Why are not all flights from Mexico cancelled? Good questions eh? Seems like they want this to spread. In addition to Bioshield, one other notable act that has been activated is the MEPA or Model State Emergency Health Powers Act is up and running.

Seems to me that while perusing the news this morning that this is spreading around the globe. Now it seems as though there are cases in Canada, France, Israel, Hong Kong, New Zealand, and Spain.

I put this together years ago when the H5N1 "bird" flu was ramping up, the information is still valid and applicable to this Mexican Swine flu also. For documented validation of the following information please go to http://www.herbalgram.org/files/pdfs/elderberry-scr.pdf This is information based on Sambucus nigra, the black European elder. This information does not apply to any other variety of elder. DO NOT USE any other variety of elder as a medicinal preparation. Other varieties are toxic i.e. leaves, berries, bark, root and can cause nausea, varmint, and diarrhea. ONLY S. nigra BERRIES and flowers are used medicinally.1. Do elderberries stop flu?As the above linked article documents, elderberry tincture tested in the laboratory and in double-blind human studies cut the severity and length of Influenza A and B measurably and significantly IF taken at the onset of symptoms and taken appropriately.2. Do elderberries stop colds?No. Colds, though virus caused, do not respond to elderberry - they are an entirely different strain of virus.3. How does elderberry preparations work against Influenza A and B virus?Laboratory documentation shows elderberry preparations prevent the influenza virus from replicating, thereby preventing an overload of virus in the body, thereby allowing the immune system to do its job of attacking the virus and neutralizing it. Studies do show elderberry preparations do increase some immune system cytokines which in large, overwhelming numbers can be damaging to human tissue, BUT opinions are divided on whether keeping the viral load low outweighs the relatively low percentage of a possible cytokine storm (which is the actual killing cause in known cases of infection by H5N1 known as bird or avian flu).4. Where does one get elderberries?Most natural or health food stores in the US carry dried elderberries or they can order them for you. There are economical sources on-line also. I get all my herbs and spices from www.herbalcom.com. As of today, 10/07/2005, they are out of stock on elderberries, but will have them back in stock 10/12/2005. AT $5.75? a pound which will make a tad over 3 quarts they are not that expensive. No shipping charges, no minimum orders, fast UPS. There is a flat rate $6.00 handling charge. 5. How does one use elderberry effectively?Tinctures are primarily the most medicinally potent herbal preparations for treatments. An elderberry syrup (see reference below) is a good choice for kids or for those who wish to avoid alcohol. Capsules are the third alternative though the least medicinally potent.6. How to make elderberry tincture(or any herbal tincture)?Use any REALLY clean, preferably sterilized, glass jar - size does not really matter, but quart canning jars seem to be preferred for ease of storing, sterilizing, and filling. In ANY size glass jar, fill the jar 1/3 full of dried black (S. nigra) elderberries, this does NOT have to be exact, eyeball measurement is just fine. One pound of dried elderberries will eyeball fill 3 quarts with a bit left over or you can just evenly divide a pound of the dried berries between 3 quart jars. More really does NOT make the tincture stronger. Now fill the jar almost to the top with vodka, not less than 80 proof. DO NOT USE any other alcohol you happen to have in your stash no matter the proof, brand or type. VODKA = TINCTURE; Other alcohol = non-medicinal alcohol. Now, cap the jar securely, give a shake or two, and store in a cool, dark area for 7-10 days. That is the universally accepted time period to produce tincture. Longer does not make stronger; phases of the moon MAY have some effect but there is no documentation on that so far. After the 7-10 days you can strain off the liquid and toss the berry residue. DO NOT think to reuse that residue, the resulting liquid will not work as you expect. Your tincture is now ready to use should there be influenza in your area. You do not have to strain off the liquid, but the tincture is not going to get any more medicinal just sitting there soaking the berries. The alcohol molecules fill up to capacity within the 7-10 days and can absorb no more no matter how long it soaks. 7. How do you use elderberry tincture?Since elderberries medicinal properties work directly on Influenza A or B virus present in the body it can be taken as a preventative so as to have the elderberry medicinal properties already circulating in you system, ready to "catch" any virus that invades. A spoonful taken when leaving the house for shopping, etc. and another when returning home, and no harm in taking one before bedtime could quite possibly help you avoid totally any infection. When an adult exhibits symptoms of influenza infection i.e. sudden onset of high fever, dry persistent cough, weakness, commercially prepared elderberry preparations suggest taking internally 2 teaspoons of preparation every 4 hours i.e. Sambucol. To use homemade elderberry tincture consensus of opinion seems to be that taking 2 Tablespoons every 6 hours or so for 7-10 days will do the trick. There will be a reduction in symptoms within 2-3 days of taking elderberry tincture as per recommended above, but the virsus will still be present so take for the full 8-10 days just like taking an antibiotic for a prescribed treatment course. Some are hesitant to take after infection due to elderberrys' VERY slight immune boosting properties. 8. Are there alternative preparations not using alcohol or for children?My friend in NY, Summerthyme, uses the following formulation with great success and it would be better for children than a straight alcohol-based tincture. Fresh, frozen, or dried elderberries can be used. Whatever is handy."side note- I don't really think you need to use sterilized jars. I put that in because I have no control over people's practices, and have no way of knowing how clean they are, etc. Better safe than sorry, ya know? I generally just make sure my jars are very clean and rinsed with hot water. But I do always add the alcohol, rather than using the extra sugar. I'd probably do the extra step of sterilizing jars if I wasn't using any alcohol at all)I take fresh (or frozen) elderberries and crush them in a stainless steel or heavy enamelware kettle. I add a TINY bit of water (just enough to barely cover the bottom of the kettle to keep the berries from sticking) and heat it *gently* over *LOW* heat, stirring the whole mash up until it's no warmer than 150°. The heat helps release the juice from the berries, but I'm not certain of whether high heat would possible deactivate the antiviral properties. So I'm erring on the side of caution...I either run the whole mash through my Vitamix at this point, or, if they seem to have been quite macerated already, just pour them into a jelly bag and let them drain. I've found that I get the most yield by putting them in two fine mesh bags and then putting the whole thing in my cheese press and pressing it. A cider press would work well, too. But if you don't have anything like that, simply taking the bag of mash, and twisting it tightly in your hands will get most of the juice out.This is all contrary to most jelly making instructions (for those who are wondering) because you usually end up with some of the berry pulp in the juice. Since my goal is medicine, not "clear" jelly, I don't mind this a bit. Anyway, once you've got your juice, you need to add enough sugar to preserve it. I've found that a equal ratio of sugar to juice by volume is sufficient- IF YOU WILL ADD ALCOHOL to help preserve it for storage. If you have an objection to any alcohol in the mix, you then need to use a 5:3 ratio of sugar to juice... this will give you a saturated syrup high enough in sugar so it won't spoil at room temperature. If you prefer using honey, you need to use a slightly higher ratio.... approximately 11/4 cups of honey to every cup of juice. This is because of the water content already in the honey. Or, if you want to use pure honey without any added alcohol, you need a 2:1 honey/juice ratio.Anyway.... stir in the sugar or honey into the warm juice, until it's all completely dissolved. If you've used the lower 1:1 ratio, at this point you need to add some alcohol for preservative. I've used Blackberry Brandy quite frequently for this... hoping to get some of the astringent and stimulant effects of the blackberry in the mix. If you use brandy, you need to add 3-4 ounces per pint of syrup.If you simply want the alcohol as a preservative, you can add 3 ounces of 100 proof vodka, or a little more than 3 tablespoons of 160 proof vodka. (we can't get pure grain alcohol here... if you can, you can use 1 1/2 ounces of that instead). (SHE's REFERRING TO EVERCLEAR)Stir it gently, and decant it into STERILIZED jars or bottles. Use the same techniques you'd use when canning jelly- except this won't be hot enough for you to expect the seals to seal completely. As long as you sterilized the jars and the lids before bottling it, it shouldn't be necessary for it to seal.LABEL IT!! You always think you'll remember what is in those jars, or when you made it. Wanna bet!? LOL! Seriously- make sure you put the date and at least whether or not there is anything but elderberry and sugar in there. Store it in a cool, dark place (dark is especially important if you are using clear glass jars).9. What are the side effects and/or drug interactions of using elderberry preparations?None documented with the use of S. nigra elderberries or flowers. The leaves, bark, roots of S. nigra are toxic as are the berries and flowers of the other elder varieties. They can cause nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. There are no known drug interactions documented at this time and therefore, no contra-indications.

The world is in an uproar and worried about a global pandemic, and where is our infamous, narcissistic leader? Why, out playing golf of course! Guess a pandemic is not too much to worry about for Obama. Well, that's okay - we will do our level best to keep everyone up to date on the news. Case of Swine flu found in Ohio today. Homeland Security, under Janet Napolitano, have now taken the reins and Passive Surveillance is activated. Also declaring as of today, a Public Health Emergency in order for Federal money to be freed up and making it easier to get large quantities of Tamiflu as well. Going by the book... gee, when do the FEMA Camps, errr, I mean quarantine camps get brought into play? Really hope we will not be needing all those shiny new coffins our government has bought recently!
Here's the deal - I have noticed in the past several updates about the flu - many are now bringing in the "economic" concerns of this event. I have to wonder if this has been done deliberately to side track Mexicans by switching their attentions from the drug wars and the poor economic circumstances rampant in that country. What better way to head off a revolution than by creating a pandemic? What better way to side track Americans as well?
We will have to keep a close eye on the progression of this flu outbreak - if it fizzles out soon, as I hope it will, then this "may" have been something natural (LOL) and all will be well for a time. If it continues to get bigger and more widespread, then all bets are off. I am concerned as this has spread globally as well and at this point there are suspected cases in UK and New Zealand.
Seems like the Spanish Flu of 1918 came in 3 separate waves. The first wave was hardly noticed, the 2nd and 3rd waves really did the job. Be aware also that some wacky scientists decided to re=create the DNA from the lung tissue of a soldier from WWI that died from the Spanish Flu - this may in fact be part of that little game since this particular virus in new, a hybrid, and never seen before. This virus is 3 different mixtures of human, avian and pig virus from 3 different continents - seems fishy to me - but what do I know? I am just a sheeple right?
One has to ask if this is part of Endgame?" Then take into account all of the "training" going on around the country with just this sort of scenario being played out.
DO NOT USE TAMIFLU (DOESN'T WORK AND OBAMA AND RUMSFELD OWN MUCH STOCK IN THE COMPANY - GET NATURAL STUFF LIKE OIL OF OREGANO AND CINNAMON BARK, STAY HOME IF SPREAD WIDENS, WEAR MASKS, WASH HANDS OFTEN).
DO NOT GET "A VACCINE" - SEEMS AS THOUGH BAXTER (VERY EVIL COMPANY) MAY HAVE A VACCINE READY - I FIND THAT ONE HARD TO BELIEVE THAT THEY COULD ALREADY HAVE THIS FORMULATED - SOMETHING FISHY THERE! TPTB WILL MAKE IT MANDATORY, IF THIS TURNS IN TO A PANDEMIC, THAT YOU TAKE THE VACCINE AND WILL BE CONSIDERED A FELONY IF YOU DO NOT - I WILL NOT TAKE A VACCINE.
We will have to wait and see what this is going to do, but all should be watching and preparing:
*Make sure you have 3 months (the length of time a quarantine may be in affect) worth of food and water.
*Have N95 masks at the very least.
*Get natural antivirals such as Oil of Oregano(ours is very strong and must be diluted before use with extra virgin olive oil) - we got ours from survivalenterprises.com.
*Have your, um, 2nd amendment supplies as well.
Will post as the news comes in today! Be alert. Be aware. Get prepared.
